Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Design Creation:
- Creating and developing original designs for women's apparel that align with the brand's vision, target market, and seasonal themes.
- Developing original textile print designs that align with the brand's aesthetic and target market.

Research and Inspiration:
- Staying updated on current fashion trends, colors, fabrics, and styles through market research, trend forecasting, and attending fashion shows.
- Conducting research to stay updated on current trends, colors, and techniques in textile design. Drawing inspiration from various sources such as art, fashion, and culture.

Collaboration:
- Working closely with other teams such as product development, marketing, and merchandising to ensure designs meet product requirements and market needs.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software used for textile design. - Sketching and Illustration, translating design ideas into sketches and illustrations using traditional hand-drawing techniques or computer-aided design (CAD) software such as Adobe Illustrator.

Color and Pattern Development:
- Creating color palettes and patterns that are suitable for different fabric types and printing methods.

Prototype Review:
- Reviewing and approving prototypes and samples to ensure the design is translated correctly onto fabric.

Requirements:

Quality Control:
- Ensuring that prints meet quality standards and making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.

Documentation:
- Keeping detailed records of designs, including specifications, color standards, and production notes.

Market Awareness and Consumer Understanding:

- Understanding the market and consumer preferences to create designs that are commercially viable and competitive.

Adaptability:
- Being flexible and able to adjust designs based on feedback from stakeholders and market trends.

Communication:
- Clearly communicating design concepts and ideas to team members and manufacturers.

Deadline Management:
- Working within deadlines and managing time effectively to deliver designs on schedule.

Brand Representation:
- Upholding the brand's image and values through design choices and maintaining consistency across collections.
