Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose

Lead, advise and direct the formulation and execution of ADNOC's strategy and business plans as well as the process of translating strategy into functional targets in order to ensure that the strategic, and business planning process is effective, continuously improved and the key performance indicators are set, measured and achieved.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Business Strategy Formulation:
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the vision and long - term strategy for the ADNOC Group of Companies and contribute to the overall process of corporate governance, management and corporate decision making in order to ensure the organization maximizes returns to its shareholders.
- Provide support to ensure that the Company's long and short term plans are effectively converted into the core business and support functions acceptable performance objectives in line with established service levels.
- Support the establishment of a mechanism/process in order to appropriately balance short-term operational objectives and long-term strategic objectives in order to ensure that ADNOC achieves its objectives.
- Support the process of identifying and capturing the interdependencies among the various ADNOC long-term strategy initiatives.
- Enable board and senior executive team decision-making at the macro level of business strategy and performance evaluation and also in areas of specific industry domain expertise.

Business Strategy Implementation:
- Contribute to the implementation of ADNOC Group's long-term strategy initiatives through the provision of overall guidance, leadership and business view of ADNOC's strategy in order to ensure a clear understanding of high-level strategic targets at the corporate level.
- Contribute to the implementation of an effective communication plan for ADNOC's long-term strategy, including effective change management process for ADNOC's long-term strategy in order to ensure organizational readiness.

Review Business Strategy:
- Review and ensure efficient governance structure for ADNOC's long-term strategy development and implementation ensuring clarity of roles and accountabilities of all stakeholders. Manage the process of resolving issues that hinder ADNOC's strategies' progress, escalating the unresolved issues to the relevant stakeholders, as necessary.
- Co-lead regular benchmarking analysis in order to ensure that ADNOC's strategies' processes are continuously in line with international best practices in order to be the best in class oil and gas company.

Any Other Key Accountabilities

- Perform any other key initiatives / projects activities specifically related to the mandate of the ADNOC Group CEO and the Government of Abu Dhabi.

Generic Accountabilities

Supervision:
- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets:
- Provide input for preparation of the Function/Division/Department/Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver objectives.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:
- Implement approved Function/Division/Department/Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management:
- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function/Division/Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability:
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports:
- Provide inputs to prepare Function/Division/Department/Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Generic Accountabilities

Internal Communications & Working Relationships
- ADNOC Group CEO.
- Director, The Executive Office.
- EVP, The Executive Office.
- Any other Directorate / Function, as required.

External Communications & Working Relationships
- Shareholders
- Counterparts & members of the ADNOC Group, as required.
- Local and international vendors, contractors and third party service providers.
- Government organisations and entities.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Finance.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- 18 years' relevant experience, including at least 12 years as a corporate strategy professional.
- A minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience in an oil and gas industry.
- Ability to develop business plans and procedures with a positive outcome.
- Ability to extract and analyze relevant data to make sound judgment.
- Excellent problem solving ability and communication skills.

Professional Certifications

Master Degree in Business Strategy

- Minimal, involving sitting, walking, standing and computer operations.

- Normal office environment.
