JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Ship Chandler to join our team in UAE. The Ship Chandler will be responsible for providing essential supplies and provisions to ships, including food, beverages, and spare parts, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the maritime industry and exceptional customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Procure and deliver a wide range of supplies and provisions to ships, including food, beverages, and spare parts, in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain inventory levels and ensure that all items meet the required quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping companies, captains, and crew members to understand their specific needs and provide excellent customer service.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, place orders, and manage the delivery process to ensure on-time and accurate fulfillment of orders.
- Manage the administrative tasks related to invoicing, billing, and documentation to ensure accurate and timely processing of orders and payments.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continually improve the service offerings and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Ship Chandler or similar role within the maritime industry, with a strong understanding of ship provisioning and spare parts management.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities to effectively manage pricing, orders, and logistics.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards for ship provisions and spare parts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and flexibility to meet the needs of our clients and the shipping industry.
