Cryogenic Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cryogenic Maintenance Technician maintains cryogenic systems throughout the region, both UAE & Oman. These systems include cryogenic stationary storage tanks, mobile/road tankers, ISO tanks, transfer pumps for LOX/LIN/LAR/LCO2/LPG/LHE gases, atmospheric vaporizers, Compressors, vacuum pumps, Gas Mixers, Gas Manifolds, and Gas Piping.

Must be able to fabricate various items using threaded pipe, brazed copper, compression fitting stainless, welded steel, brazed bronze, etc.

Ability to travel anytime to AP sites/ customer sites to attend service/breakdown on a priority basis.
The role provides a front-line business-critical activity. As part of the Air Products team, the incumbent supports the continuing customer relationship with the company, which improves long-term retention.

DIMENSIONS:
Customer Engineering operates across a multitude of sites within the Middle East region; this job scope shall cover:
- All new installation of small and medium-sized projects site execution
- Maintenance of over 70+ live sites and 400+ equipment’s
- Maintenance of over 100+ mobile/road trailers, ISO tanks

This position is accountable for the following:
- Cryogenic Maintenance Technician performs installation and maintenance on cryogenic systems throughout the UAE area. Involves Cryogenic tanks, road tankers, ISO tanks for LOX/LIN/LAR/LCO2 gases, Atmospheric Vaporizers, Compressors, Transfer pumps, Gas Mixers, Gas Manifolds, Gas Piping, etc.
- Must be able to perform fabrication of various items using threaded pipe, brazed copper, compression fitting stainless, welded steel, brazed bronze, etc. Willing to train a motivated individual.
- Ability to travel anytime to customer sites for attending service/breakdown on a priority basis.
- Day-to-day responsibility for the management, safe operation, and regular maintenance of the liquid TANK installations & road tanker including road tanker, ISO tanks, bulk storage vessels, associated pipework, and manifolds. Identifying & rectifying faults when they occur.
- Fabrication of parts and seals using the lathe machine with different operations such as turning, facing, taper turning, knurling, grooving, parting off, thread cutting, reaming..etc
- Servicing and operation of vacuum pumps in the Department. Maintaining service records, ordering spares, and service parts.
- Perform hands-on commissioning, troubleshooting, service, and repair of cryogenic tanks, pumps, and related equipment for the LOX,LIN, LAR,LCO2, and industrial gases.
- Provide high-level technical support to customers at their location, handle services and respond to customer queries.
- Create service reports and maintain service information.
- Timely and professionally handle field service calls and issues arising from the service visits
- Communicate with the customer/intra department to ensure satisfaction and implement any necessary corrective actions
- Timely completion and submit all required paperwork
- Ability to read prints and schematics Mechanically inclined with good problem-solving skills
- Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to communicate with customers/internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Inspect, examine and test installed systems/tankers and pipe lines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing observation, helium leak testing or other methods.
- Modify, clean and maintain pipe system, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications and using hand and power tools
- Plan pipe system layout, installation or repair according to specifications
- Assist operation on all customer purging requirements.
- Reports to immediate superior all non-conforming materials and services received for use in his areas or operations and include recommendations for corrections.
- Reports problems encountered for new processes or changes and include suggestions to resolve the same
- Knowledge of know-how specific to the Job
- Knowledge of cryogenic and industrial gas filling centers
- Knowledge of basic properties of inert gases
- Knowledge of rotating equipment

Requirements:

- Cryogenic and Industrial gases maintenance experience 10+ years
- Knowledge of transfer pumps, vacuum pumps, Compressors, Helium leak detection inner shell, outer shell..etc
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs and maintenance Equipment Selection
- Modest hands-on electrical skills.
- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Previous industrial gas company experience is must.
- UAE driving license (Preferred)
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings P&IDs.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
- Deftness and attention to detail
- Proficient in English
