JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

- Mechanical Engineer with experience in oil/gas industry, petrochemical industry, buildings and infrastructure/MEP projects,
- Minimum of fifteen years (15) design consultant work experience is must.
- Knowledge of Saudi Aramco, Shell and other reputed companies codes and standards is must.
- Knowledgeable with Codes and industry standards (ex. International Plumbing code, NFPA, International mechanical code, local authority codes and standards etc.) is must.
- Experience to develop studies for existing and new buildings, conducting site surveys, FEED and Detail design along with the development of engineering/procurement documents.
- Able to develop Plumbing design basis reports for DBSP, FEED or Conceptual and Detail design projects and obtain approvals from Client Representatives.
- Able to Perform Plumbing Calculations, as per fixture load units using excel spreadsheets
- Able to develop the domestic water storage tank capacity either by using fixture load units or based on area/occupancy.
- Able to develop schematic layouts /Single line diagrams for both water supply and drainage systems.
- Able to develop water supply layouts including flow rate, pipe sizing, routing and selection of pipe materials as per international standards.
- Able to perform head loss calculations and select the pumps,
- Able to develop rainwater system layouts including flow rate and pipe sizing as per rain fall intension
- Able to develop compressed gas system and other utility gas system designs.
- Able to design all types of fire protection systems like Wet Sprinkler, Standpipe, Deluge, Water spray, Foam and Gas suppression systems as per Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards and international standards like NFPA, IFC and IBC.
- Able to perform all Saudi engineering Loss prevention and Fire Protection requirements.
- Able to develop Fire protection design basis reports for DBSP, FEED or Conceptual and Detail design projects and obtain approvals from Client Representatives.
- Able to perform Hydraulic calculations like Elite fire and Pipe net.
- Able to determine the required fire protection systems as per building use and occupancy.
- Able to develop the fire water storage tank capacity either by using fixture load units or based on area/occupancy.
- Able to perform fire pump head calculations
- Able to develop schematic layouts /Single line diagrams for all types of water based and gas based fire suppression systems.
- Able to perform all engineering drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Able to perform design scope, construction scope, technical specifications, functional specifications, Sub-contract scope of work.
- Able to perform on Material take off's and support estimate team whenever required.
- Able to perform Third Party certifications works to obtain approvals on fire protection design package as per Saudi Aramco Standards.
- Able to assist CADD designers/ draughtsman for developing all engineering deliverables.
- Able to develop scope of work, specifications, Bill of quantities and subcontract scope
- Ability to interact with internal Engineering/Design disciplines and client during the course of projects
- Working Knowledge experience of REVIT, AUTOCAD, MicroStation and energy modelling software.
- Ability to interact/coordinate other Architectural, Civil Structural, electrical design and drafting activities including 3D Design.
- Able to report the project status by updating weekly reports, monthly reports and develop the mitigation plans to meet the project milestones, if required.
- Attending meeting with the Client, Coordination meetings, Technical Review meeting, Value Engineering session and Constructability sessions.
- An effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and flexible to work under pressure

Requirements:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Fire Protection Engineering with relevant years of experience.
- Professional Engineer.
