Marine Mechanical Engineer

Employment: Full Time

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Libya. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the oil and gas industry and possess exceptional engineering and analytical skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical systems on marine vessels and ensuring their optimal performance and safety.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and oversee the installation of mechanical systems on marine vessels, including engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on marine vessels and develop effective solutions to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including naval architects, electrical engineers, and marine technicians, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with other vessel components.
- Provide technical guidance and support to marine crew members and ensure they are trained in the proper operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to continuously improve and optimize mechanical systems on marine vessels.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine mechanical engineering, with a focus on the oil and gas industry.
- Proven expertise in designing, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems on marine vessels, including knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance to marine crew members.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for engineering design and analysis.
- Certification or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus.
