UNIMED, part of the Almulla Group of companies, was established in 2001 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), with the original purpose of providing specialist procurement services and pharmaceutical and healthcare support to its sister organisation, the American Hospital Dubai

During a very successful period of business incubation within the Group, UNIMED developed its substantial sector specific expertise and established its reputation. In fact, UNIMED proved to be so effective and successful within its internal Group role that its mission was eventually extended to provide a portfolio of services to the rapidly emerging private healthcare sector in the UAE and beyond. The business has moved into the external market and forward integrated into distribution channels for principles and brand owners, worldwide, which are looking to enter the Market East marketplace.

In this time, UNIMED has developed unique insights into the increasingly mature and sophisticated healthcare sector in the UAE and wider Middle East markets, where the sector is growing strongly and benefitting from substantial investment through public/private sector channels.

The company’s unique track record and experience of working alongside the leading private hospital means that UNIMED has played a fundamental role in the evolution of the healthcare sector in the UAE and is now looking to build on this foundation and develop new services, extending its role more deeply into distribution and even beyond, into retailing.
