About the Job

The jobholder is responsible to supervise, coordinate, troubleshoot lead and administrate the Instrumentation & control team of Senior Technicians, composed by direct hires and contractors, doing installation or commissioning of equipment and execution of Predictive, Preventive, Proactive and Corrective Maintenance works on a wide range of plant Instruments, control systems and plant Analysers ensuring they are performed safely in time, with the required quality and in a manner to comply with all applicable local laws and regulations in accordance with company guidelines and HSE policy and procedures.

Key Accountabilities
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting, decide on the corrective action and ensures that the right maintenance is done on the equipment needing repairing.
- Supervision of installation, repairing and maintenance jobs on a wide variety of equipment and systems covering all plants on site.
- Monitor the work execution quality and following up the work progress ensuring the completion on time.
- Monitor and inspect maintenance contractors to ensure compliance with specified terms and parameters.
- Ensure that the quality procedures, vendor/ OEM instructions, HSE requirements, etc. are available & followed by the job execution group.
- Coordinate with different departments to ensure the timely completion of all maintenance jobs in the safest & effective manner.
- Coordinate and provide technical support to shift personnel for any requirement related to job.
- Supervise Instrument and Control maintenance jobs for the assigned plant area with objectives to minimize failures, reduce pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up delays and ensure equipment reliability & availability.
- Conduct task risk assessment and responsible for maintaining safety at work location.
- Responsible for testing the performance function of SIL instruments and deviation recording in case of performance failure.
- Conduct and participate in risk management for any interlock defeat requirement.
- Provide day to day instructions for safe job execution.
- Perform regular toolbox talks to pass all type of information to the team of Technicians like HSE&Q and HR related, daily activity, etc.
- Ensure that HSE critical and Non-HSE Instrument and Control systems on facilities can be operated in a safe and environmentally sound manner to comply with all applicable local laws and regulations in accordance with company guidelines and complex HSE policy and procedures.
- Closely follow-up for calibration of all IQE instruments and calibration tools used for calibration and maintain proper records as per ISO requirement.
- Support System Engineers for maintaining DCS, ESD & MCMS system Hardware.
- Support maintenance requirements related to profitability programs and alarm management.
- Inspect completed jobs for conformity to statutory and Company standards and regulations.
- Observe and approve Functional Tests, Equipment Run tests, etc.
- Verify that required PM plans for equipment maintenance and preservation are executed as per procedures.
- Maintain equipment files that contain equipment datasheet, maintenance logbook, history and any other relevant records like calibration reports, checklist etc.
- Perform Visual, Close and Detailed inspection of installed Instrument & Control equipment.
- Discuss the daily maintenance and start-up schedule and the daily plan with the Planners and Operation teams to ensure optimum use of resources such as time, material, and labour.
- Participate in the planning and execution of major equipment turnarounds and shutdowns and supervises the equipment overhaul and it is evaluating afterwards to ensure smooth running.
- Ensure execution of scheduled pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up maintenance and troubleshooting maintenance activities equipment to ensure proper operating conditions of Company's assets and adherence to international standards.
- Attend interface meetings with Project Teams and custodian departments to facilitate resolution of issues and promote good working relations.
- Regularly inspect the workshops and other workplaces used by his team looking for a good housekeeping and a proper organization.
- Review regularly the tools distributed to his team, individual tools in the toolboxes and other, ensuring the return in time of the non-permanent tools, all the needed tools are available for the job execution and the normalization of all situations.
- Participate in Safety Audits and Area Walk downs as part of acceptance list the Start-up.
- Complete detailed Technical Feedback in SAP for future failure analysis
- Ensures the work orders are properly confirmed and failure codes are put for all the jobs performed in SAP.
- Maintain records of the work performed and progress, other related data, processes the paperwork related to the jobs and provides inputs for the monthly report.
- Initiate a Failure Report as per the criteria and support Engineers by giving inputs for the root cause failure analysis, improvement suggestions on chronic failures, spare parts management parameters, Preventive Maintenance plans, etc. and executes all the related actions assigned to him.
- Raise material reservations and assists in the receipt of materials and spare parts, helping to check the quality of the supplies. Ensure unused materials is returned to warehouse within define time.
- Responsible for segregation of repairable and non-repairable items, tagging, tracking, record keeping. and initiates actions for their refurbishment.
- Receive and physically inspect delivered spare parts.
- Perform time entry approval for the technicians collaborating with him.
- Coordinate with all his team members the overall annual leave plan to have an even workforce distribution ensuring the minimum availability.
- Contribute to the evaluation of the contractor's technicians before they join the team and follows-up their performance afterwards.
- Determine the training needs for the team members and trainees and ensures the adequate training on-the-job for their skill's development.
- Participate in development and review of work instructions and check lists used for the execution of maintenance works.
- Set up Performance Contracts with his team of technicians, following up and assessing the performance.

Requirements:

- Diploma or equivalent technical qualifications in Electrical or Control discipline.
- Good command, communication, and technical reporting writing skills in English Language.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in installation, repair, testing and maintenance of a wide range equipment items of production facilities in an oil/gas or petrochemical industry.
- Thorough knowledge of HSE requirements for field maintenance jobs.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting experience related to various components related to instrumentation and control systems in Oil & Gas.
- Hands on SAP basic operations related to maintenance.
- Knowledge of Office Software's like Windows and Microsoft Office tools
- Hands on the documentation and reporting procedures for abnormal conditions.
- Hands on inspecting and tests for the equipment and circuits to identify malfunctions or defects, using wiring diagrams and testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or ammeters.
- Working knowledge on manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and to determine optimum equipment functioning.
- Particularly good knowledge in Control System to conduct the maintenance activity to work on wide range of Instrumentation, Analyser and Control Systems.
- Vast experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of control valves and transmitters.
- Working experience in communicating software is for MCMS, DCS, PLC, ESD, HART communicator and field instrument instruments.
- Knowledge of Hazardous area classifications and explosion protection practices. Awareness about ATEX requirements and field installations.
- Ability to lead and communicate to a team of multi-cultural, multi-national personnels.
