Job description / Role
GEMS Royal Dubai school is currently looking to recruit a Student Counsellor to cover a maternity leave for September 2024. We are open to considering part time applications for this role
Job Purpose:
• To provide comprehensive support services to students to create a safe and supportive school environment that promotes student success and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, career, social, and emotional issues.
• Develop and implement effective counseling programs that support student development.
• Address and resolve student conflicts and crises, providing immediate support as needed.
• Assist students in setting academic goals and developing plans to achieve them.
• Monitor student academic progress and provide interventions as necessary.
• Collaborate with teachers to identify and support students with academic challenges.
• Provide career exploration and planning services to students.
• Assist students in understanding the relationship between school and future career opportunities.
Requirements:
• Organize and facilitate career workshops, job shadowing, and college visits.
• Promote a positive school climate through programs and activities that enhance students' social and emotional skills.
• Implement and oversee anti-bullying and conflict resolution programs.
• Provide support for students dealing with personal or family issues, referring them to external resources when necessary.
• Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student needs.
• Participate in school committees and contribute to the development of school policies
• Conduct parent workshops and provide resources to help parents support their child's development.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
• Prepare and submit reports on student progress, behavior, and counseling activities.
• Ensure compliance with all school policies and legal requirements related to student counseling.
