Senior Engineer, Plant Operations

About the Job

The jobholder is responsible to provide with the coordination and support to the plant operations management, team and activities to ensure the required safety in the plant and timely information among plant personnel.

This role includes; to coordinate, secure and supervise the chemicals, waste management for assigned areas of U&O plant(s) in a safe and efficient manner; coordinate with various disciplines like maintenance, RSI, HSE & procurements to support day to day operation; report the monthly and yearly process chemical inventory, waste generation and disposal reporting of the U&O plant(s); support the continuous improvement and development of work routines, safety etc. in the plant.

Key Accountabilities

Operating Procedures & Manuals
- Participate in preparing and implementing critical operating procedures.
- Write regulations and procedures for commissioning and testing of all new equipment and vessels.
- Handle emergency cases as necessary and ensures that all situations are dealt with quickly and safely.

Inventory Monitoring
- Check daily inventories of chemicals and additives and initiates ordering of new batches to secure agreed safety stocks and troubleshoot inventory deviations.
- Liaise with the materials management team for the ordering, storage and requisitioning of chemicals and additives to ensure that such supplies are sufficiently available in the storages at all times.
- Requests replenishments as necessary, and initiate sampling of chemicals/additives according to instructions.
- Ensure deliveries of chemicals and additives are orderly and safely off-loaded to the storages by shift or day operators and additive cylinders are safely connected to the process.

HSE Reporting
- Ensure compliance by Operating personnel with all safety and fire regulations, including the use of protective clothing and equipment.
- Act as plant's waste coordinator; ensuring disposal of waste chemicals and empty drums are orderly and safely disposed inside or outside waste facility,while maintaining records and develop monthly and yearly reports for consumption of chemicals and waste generation.
- Review and follow up open incident reports and outstanding corrective actions from incident investigations, and attend department's safety, health and housekeeping meetings.
- Act as asset owner representative for CCBs and Operator shelters plus non-process buildings (SI) &approve all related permits, and ensure replenishment of first aid boxes, safety cabinets etc.
- Perform regular tours in the field to check the overall housekeeping and to provide support for general services in the plant.
- Act as focal point from the function for coordination with HSE team for management of bulk storage and waste disposal & asset integrity

Maintenance Coordination
- Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities with Operations and establish activity priorities to improve the plant availability.
- Maintain operations activities in the maintenance management system for reporting and monitoring.
- Develop operating procedures and standing instructions to provide efficient overall control and coordination.
- Monitor the plant day-to-day technical performance; provide corrective actions, procedures and recommendations to overcome plant problems.
- Initiate action plans to improve high standards of safety within the plant and participate in risk assessment and failure reports analysis.
- Review, monitor overall reliability efforts and participate in reliability improvement programs, problem identification, root cause analysis and recommendations to ensure highest levels of quality.
- Provide operation input of plant related modifications, projects, HAZOP, process flow diagrams review (PID's) for improvements/ enhancements.
- Coordinate plant shutdowns and turnarounds to facilitate smooth plant operations
- Track and generate records for compliance to e-check lists by shift groups. Keeping the record of plant
- Radios availability and communicate with Telecom for Radios which required maintenance. Also the same for handheld devices for WMS.

Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Business, Management or any other Discipline.
- At least 3 years relevant experience in plant operations coordination
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the Plant or Site.
- Excellent knowledge of site's workflows and utilities & off-sites processes.
- Good time management, presentation and communication skills
- Good IT skills & computer
- Good knowledge in SAP transactions & work-flow
