Senior Accountant

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in UAE-Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, financial reporting, and budgeting activities, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies. Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and other financial reports in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to the management team for financial decision-making.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, and monitor variances to ensure financial stability and profitability.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely completion of audits and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide financial insights for strategic planning and decision-making.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, and ensure timely implementation of necessary changes.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, and provide training and support to enhance their skills and professional development.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or ACCA certification is preferred.
- Proven work experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role in the trading industry, with a strong understanding of trading accounting principles and practices.
- In-depth knowledge of local accounting regulations and tax laws, and experience in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing financial issues and risks.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality in work deliverables.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a passion for developing and empowering team members to achieve professional growth and excellence.

Salary:
AED 6,000 to 8,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
