Employment: Full Time

Job Summary:
The Sailing Technical Superintendent is responsible for evaluating the performance of engine room crew and engine room machinery, ensuring vessel safety, and maintaining accurate records. The incumbent will act as the owner's representative while sailing on the vessel, conducting detailed assessments, and submitting comprehensive reports to improve vessel performance. This role requires a highly experienced marine engineer with excellent communication and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Performance Evaluation: Monitor and assess the performance of engine room crew, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement. Evaluate the operational efficiency of engine room machinery and equipment.
Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to engine room operations.

Vessel Safety & Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are strictly adhered to in the engine room. Conduct safety drills and training sessions with the engine room crew. Verify compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies.

Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of engine room operations, including maintenance logs, safety checklists, Oil record book and inventory of spare parts. Prepare detailed reports on the condition of the vessel’s engine room, highlighting areas for improvement. Submit reports to the office for review and further action to enhance vessel performance.

Owner’s Representative: Act as the owner's representative onboard, ensuring that the vessel’s engine room operates in accordance with the company's standards and objectives. Communicate effectively with the vessel’s Master, Chief Engineer, and office-based teams.

Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to the engine room crew during critical operations or in case of emergencies. Collaborate with the office-based technical team to address any technical issues identified during the voyage.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer, or 3rd Engineer on board offshore support vessels or commercial vessels.
Education: Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent maritime qualification.

Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of marine engine room operations and machinery.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in record-keeping and reporting.
Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure.

Rotation: This position requires sailing on the fleet vessel on a rotation basis, with specific rotation schedules determined by operational requirements.
