Procurement Specialist

Job description / Role

As a Procurement Specialist with Alpha, your primary responsibility is to manage the procurement process for all goods and services required to support the company's operations. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing supplies, equipment, and services to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Your role will involve working closely with various internal stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors to meet the company's procurement needs while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Supplier Management:

- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service criteria.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent and timely delivery of goods and services.

- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to optimize costs and secure favorable terms.

- Monitor supplier performance, address any issues, and implement corrective actions as required.

- Conduct periodic supplier evaluations to ensure ongoing compliance with quality and service standards.

Purchase Order Processing:

- Prepare and process purchase orders based on approved requisitions, ensuring accuracy of specifications, quantities, and delivery dates.

- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as the operations team, to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.

- Monitor order status and resolve any discrepancies or delays in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

- Maintain proper documentation and records of all procurement activities and transactions.

Cost Control and Optimization:

- Analyze market conditions, trends, and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

- Implement cost control measures and monitor procurement expenditures against the budget.

- Evaluate and recommend alternative products or suppliers to achieve cost savings or improve quality.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, company policies, and industry standards throughout the procurement process.

- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to establish and maintain quality standards for purchased goods and services.

- Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify supplier compliance and quality control.

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.

- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably within the airline or catering industry.

- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.

- Familiarity with sourcing and negotiation strategies, including supplier selection and contract management.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to analyze data, evaluate suppliers, and make informed decisions.

- Proficiency in using procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

- Knowledge of aviation regulations and catering industry standards is a plus

Salary:
AED 5,000 to 6,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
