The role involves working on portfolio of projects associated with storm water & drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater networks, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and water distribution networks. This will involve undertaking full life cycle of projects from investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction monitoring, risk assessment, budgeting, cash-flow, etc.

Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Excessive experience in projects plannings
- Excessive experience working on portfolio of projects as part of PMO.
- Oversee investigations, concept and detailed designs for portfolio of civil and wastewater wet utilities infrastructure projects.
- Review data collection and analysis for conceptual planning and design, prepare design drawings and specifications, and solve design problems as required.
- Review field investigations to collect design information.
- Manage preparation of technical specifications, tendering and contract administration.
- Engineering analysis, technical writing, design calculations, specifications, and drawings on projects.
- Manage project activities through the application of technical engineering planning, principles and techniques.
- Review project deliverables including writing technical reports, gathering information,
- Drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, schedule, , and completing progress reports.
- Determine budgets, timelines and cost estimates for projects in the design and construction phases.
- Work in conjunction with engineers in the design and construction departments to solve project design and construction problems, performing basic design calculations as required.
- Conduct technical and, feasibility studies and site investigations.
- Conduct risk assessments on projects.
- Participate in value engineering sessions.
- Liaison with teams working remotely from other parts of in different departments the world to facilitate completion of tasks, and projects.
- Internal and external client liaison.
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
- Complete all work in line Stantec and Client Core Values and in accordance with Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
- Identify risks on projects and derive risk mitigation measures and plans as appropriate,
- Work and follow Stantec’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
- Manage and take ownership of the tasks and deliverables to be completed in a quality and timely manner,
- Conduct monthly commercial project reviews including estimates at completion (EAC), costs to complete (CTC), estimated revenues at completion (ERAC), accruals, provisions, profitability, and gross margin analysis,
- Administer contracts including managing variation orders, claims…etc.
- Manage resourcing and resource planning on projects,
- Manage and closely follow Accounts receivables (AR) and cash-flow of projects,

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in civil/mechanical/electrical engineering from an internationally recognized university.
- Minimum of 15 years of work experience among which at least 5 years' experience as portfolio manager in PMO.
- Middle East experience is mandatory, and UAE experience is preferable.
- Membership of an accredited Project Management institution an advantage.
- Professional Chartership Engineer status from an internationally recognized institution.
- Experience with water infrastructure, sewers, water pipelines, RO plants, and water reservoirs.
- Experience in reviewing, verifying, monitoring and recommending non-objection for design management plans, design calculations, hydraulic analysis, design calculations and more.
- Experience in evaluating technical and financial proposals.
- Excellent command English both written and spoken.
- The ability to manage a heavy workload, with a close attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills.
- The ability to work autonomously, reviewing your work on a regular basis while consistently meeting your objectives.
- Strong team working capabilities. Committed to working with all levels of management on a daily and ongoing basis.
- A proactive approach, working effectively in coordinating activities and complex tasks, taking professional responsibility in all matters.
- Be of the highest caliber: punctual, attentive and competent in adhering to Stantec’s policies, procedures and working practices.
- A flexible approach to working hours and travel; with occasional weekend work if required.
