Lead HSE Designer

Job description / Role

Wood has been awarded a major project with ADNOC and, we are looking to hire a Lead HSE Designer to be based at our Abu Dhabi Engineering Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure design compliance in line with best practices, BU requirements and Company policies and procedures
- To guide junior staff in design processes and technical matters
- Monitor the performance of their team members to ensure the design's correctness, completeness, and compliance with the scope of work requirements.
- Knowledge of basic engineering processes
- Familiarity with international codes, standards and engineering practices
- Thorough knowledge of onshore/offshore design engineering for the oil, gas and water fields.
- To provide designs and check to ensure they are accurate and in line with defined requirements.
- Hands-on experience on the following HSE deliverables
- Hazardous Area Classification Layouts
- Fire & Gas Detector Layouts
- Fire Protection and Life-saving Equipment layout
- Passive Fire Proofing Layouts
- Escape Route and Safety Sign Layouts
- Piping & Instrumentation diagrams
- Process Flow Diagrams
- Coordinating with other centres / Safety Engineers for layout drafting
- Coordinate / Liaise with Consultants, Clients, on all client-related changes and comments and ensure approvals and consequent incorporation in the design.
- To support the Lead Engineer in completing design projects on time and within budget.
- To provide support in agreeing on the project brief, establishing timelines, delegating tasks, and monitoring the project's progress.

- Monitor the performance of their team members to ensure the design's correctness, completeness, and compliance with the scope of work requirements.

- Diploma of Engineering (Preferable)
- Minimum 15 years of Oil & Gas design experience.
- Experience in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
