Job description / Role
Responsibilities:
• Understanding fully the requirements of the project including drawings, specifications, documentation, budget costs of materials, resources, typical productive outputs etc.
• Assisting the project manager in drawing up work program, resource plan and procurement plan for execution of works
• Liaise with Key Stakeholders to ensure a smooth handover of landscape assets on completion of works.
• Supervise and coordinate with inspectors to ensure contractors works are appropriately monitored.
• Attend weekly / monthly meetings as necessary with specific regard to landscape and HSSE issues.
• Liaise with Key Stakeholders to ensure a smooth handover of landscape assets on completion of works.
• Provide landscape input to weekly / monthly reports.
• Ensure the timely review of all documents submitted by the contractor.
• Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist the line Manager to issue site instructions for landscaping, irrigation, and associated items.
• Check and measure the performed work in his/her line of work, record and help the Resident Engineer to display progress vs programmed work.
• Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings within his/her line of work.
• Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
• Ensuring approval of material required for the project prior to procurement.
• Raising material requisitions with detailed specifications clearly indicating Client specified material/ supplier and follow up with procurement for timely delivery of materials.
• Checking all material deliveries for quality control and approval of delivery notes
• Coordination for collection of necessary data from the supplier for material submittals.
• Responsible for ensuring that the work is performed in accordance with specifications and within the timelines and cost constraints.
• Providing leadership, organizational support skills and promoting teamwork to achieve targets.
• Coordinating with Safety personnel for fulfilling safety requirements throughout the project and encouraging / promoting and maintaining safe site working practices with work team.
• Provide training to landscapers on agricultural related pest issues and arrange pest treatment to eradicate the problem.
Requirements:
• Must be knowledgeable of current landscape practices and how to best implement it on the project.
• Proven ability to perform in a site supervision role.
• Must have a sound knowledge of horticultural practice with specific regard to the implementation of large-scale hard and soft landscape works common to the Gulf region.
• Must be computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc.
• Sound knowledge about agriculture related pest issues and treatments
• Strong knowledge of permaculture principles, sustainable landscaping practices, and regenerative farming.
• Have prior experience in palm trees maintenance (manual pruning, watering requirements, soil condition, roots), etc.
• Experience in team management and leadership.
• The Landscape Engineer responsible for execution, documentation, procurement, and administration of all aspects of hard and soft landscaping projects including irrigation system and provide support to senior staff concerning all landscape/irrigation related issues.
