The Team
Our Global Legal team provides key support for all TikTok's innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support.

The Global Employment Law team provides strategic and practical legal advice to Human Resources and business stakeholders globally, and handles litigation matters involving TikTok in all the regions in which TikTok operates.

The Role
The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking bright and capable legal professionals to join the team. We are looking for a mid to senior level employment lawyer to join our existing team of employment lawyers supporting the EMEA region. You should be a motivated, self-starter who can build strong relationships with our HR/ER teams and various other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will form an integral part of the in-house legal team. The role is based in Dubai.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business stakeholders in the UAE and the Middle East, Turkey & Africa region, with scope for assisting in other countries in the EMEA region.
- Provide day-to-day legal advice and strategic support to Human Resources & other stakeholders.
- Support and provide advice on strategic global and regional HR projects, including collaboration with employment lawyers across the globe, other members of Legal and various stakeholders.
- Draft and revise employment related agreements and policies, including employment contracts, severance agreements, company policies, and other employment related documents.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance relating to employment issues for emerging business lines and markets.
- Support in relation to employee investigations and outcomes.
- Provide advice on HR data privacy law (eg data subject access requests) collaborating with Data Privacy Legal as needed.
- Manage employment disputes and exits, including preparation for court hearings and settlement negotiations.
- Instructing and managing external counsel as required.
- Create and lead training on EMEA employment law issues.

Requirements:

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Employment lawyer with excellent academic credentials and significant experience of advising in the UAE and the broader Middle East, Turkey & Africa region.
- Significant employment law experience in private practice with a highly regarded firm.
- Experience of handling employment litigation matters, including retaining and managing outside counsel to ensure that all aspects of the company's legal representation are of the highest quality, and representing multi-national companies involved in complex disputes with outstanding outcomes.
- Ability to navigate cross-border employment law issues, including global mobility and immigration risk.
- Demonstrated judgment, personal integrity, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to work as a team player who can effectively collaborate with colleagues from the Global Legal team and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, including exceptional legal writing skills.
- A team player who is adaptable and willing to pitch in to support colleagues and the growth of the business.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of working in an in-house legal department
