Civil Draughtsman

Job description / Role

Our Multi National Civil Contracting client has a new requirement for a number of experienced Civil Draughtsman (CAD/BIM) to join their team in Abu Dhabi at a prestigious new project in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Civil Draughtsman on major civil projects in the UAE and have worked in the capacity of Civil Draughtsman for a Main Contracting company previously.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed by our client.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed shop drawings for civil work, including Layouts, Elevation Drawings, Plan Drawings, Section Views, Details, Isometric Presentations, Schematic Diagrams, Control Diagrams, and As-Built Drawings, based on the Engineer’s development, design, and instructions.
• Prepare shop drawings for civil work with Lay-outs, Elevation Drawings, Plan Drawings, Section Views, Details and Isometric presentations, as per Engineer’s development, Design and instruction/advice respectively.
• Implement and follow up updated Structural, Architectural and other related Design / Layout.
• Maintain CAD management and quality control systems.
• Properly record and manage the additional changes of new drawings, design changes, site queries, answers from clients and consultants.
• Maintain up-to-date drawings and designs change notices, site queries and answers, submitted as-built drawings in an electronic format as well as hard format.
• Prepare, plan and register for project requirements such and drawing submittals.
• Prepare 3D drawings and views as required.
• Responsible for control of all drawing submittals and monitoring of commented drawings from the consultant. Prepare transmittal of outgoing drawings and record incoming drawings, keep invalid drawings, stamp them as superseded and archive them properly.
• Produce material take-off lists from engineering drawings, calculate and find the difference in quantities between the drawings and the actual work executed on site.
• Conduct site inspection and reflect all the changes in as-built drawing as per actual site installation.
• Follow up through the entire life span of projects ensuring that the highest quality standards are met.
• Provide continuous and best support to the site construction team whether it is subcontracted or being executed In-House.
• Perform under tight schedules and deadlines with minimum supervision and work closely with other engineers, draftsmen and/or any other team members.
• Cooperate with the Company to enable compliance with the relevant statutory provisions.
• Ensure there is no interference or misuse (intentionally or recklessly) of anything provided for the health, safety and environment or welfare under the relevant statutory provision.
• Provide suggestions to improve Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental conditions to supervisor, Corporate Quality Manager, and Corporate HSE Manager.

Civil Draughtsman Experience:
• Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or related preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a CAD Operator/ Draughtsman in Tier 1 contractors, with 2-5 years of experience leading high-rise construction projects or working with top contractors.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in civil and infrastructure architecture.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD
• Experience in Revit, Navisworks, BIM360 / ACC Docs and Design Collaboration is preferred.
• Civil 3D experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
• Analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage change effectively.

Salary:
AED 8,000 to 10,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
