Chief Estimator

Job description / Role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to join our construction team in UAE, Dubai.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for working as a 2nd in command in the estimating department

This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team of 6.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the estimating department, providing guidance and support to team members
- Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials and labor
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate project costing and budgeting
- Analyze and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure competitive pricing and quality
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to facilitate the bidding and procurement process
- Prepare and present cost estimates and bid proposals to clients and participate in negotiations as needed
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimating
- Manage and maintain estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency

- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
- Proven experience as a Chief Estimator or similar role in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment
- Good communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, Procore, or similar
- Familiarity with local construction regulations and codes in UAE-Dubai
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

Salary:
AED 25,000 to 35,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
