Senior Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Prepare and review tax filings, ensuring compliance with local regulations and deadlines
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decision-making
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial information
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits
- Provide support and guidance to junior accounting staff, as needed

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or ACCA certification is preferred
- Proven work experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently, while meeting deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Familiarity with local accounting regulations and tax laws in the UAE is a plus
