SAP Basis Consultant

Job description / Role

We are seeking a skilled SAP Basis Consultant to join our team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing our SAP landscape, ensuring optimal performance, and providing technical support to our SAP systems. The ideal individual will possess a strong understanding of SAP Basis administration, system installations, upgrades, and maintenance, and will be instrumental in enhancing our operational efficiency within the manufacturing sector.

Responsibilities:
- Administer and support the SAP Basis environment, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems.
- Monitor system performance and conduct performance tuning to ensure optimal operation of SAP applications.
- Manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures to safeguard system data.
- Collaborate with functional teams to support SAP application issues and provide technical solutions.
- Perform system refreshes and transport management for development, quality, and production environments.
- Conduct capacity planning and system sizing to accommodate business growth and changes.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and perform user administration, role assignments, and authorization management.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain up-to-date operational manuals.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior team members and other IT staff on SAP Basis best practices.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP Basis administration in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of SAP architecture and components including NetWeaver, HANA, and various SAP modules.
- Experience with system installations, upgrades, and migrations in SAP environments.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows/Linux) and database management systems (Oracle, HANA, SQL Server).
- Proficiency in performance tuning, system monitoring, and troubleshooting SAP issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to system management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
- SAP certification in Basis or related specialties is a plus.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
