Retail Design Manager / Director (Luxury Retail Assets)

Job description / Role

The position is responsible for managing the tenant design briefing, design approvals (concept and detail design) and site support in line with the Design Criteria. The goal is to deliver Luxury high-end boutiques stores, malls and retail strips community centre to the highest standard with aim goal of creating and maintaining engaging and high-performing retail destinations.

Client Details

Our client its a recognised public entity under PIF, based in Riyadh, KSA. The project promises a blend of architectural typology and new urbanism.

Description

* Continually support the evolution of design criteria and related collateral to ensure the retail environments are market relevant, customer focused and in line with the Asset positioning.
* Brief Clients and Retail Partners, providing continued support throughout the concept & detail design approval stages, follow the fit-out phases ensuring no loss of rent (or impact on income stream) for scheduled openings.
* Ensuring a high impact outcome, commercially, operationally, benefiting all parties, putting the end customer at the centre of the experience.
* Attend and participate in weekly/monthly and annual board meetings with leadership teams and peers to share and provide feedback on design concepts, support colleagues, learn, coordinate joint approvals, and help each-other in achieving stand-out concepts
* Minimise the design review cycle by adopting a clear, constructive, detailed, consistent, fair feedback system.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with all of the teams involved in the project) Retail Partners, their Project Managers, Design team, Contractors, Builders and/or Shop Fitters, Key Accounts team, Lease Contract Management team, Marketing team, Local Authorities, Suppliers.

The perfect candidate must have the requirements below:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Architecture / Interior Architecture or equivalent.
* Minimum 10-15 years of progressive and successful experience in Luxury Retail Design, Shopping Malls and Retail Design Management.
* Experience with shopping mall operators and high-street luxury brands across Europe is preferred.
* Strong Communication & Negotiation skills (verbal, written and presentation)
* Capable of managing a broad range of stakeholders
* Language: English- business and technical fluency essential
