The Mechanical Manager is responsible for overseeing the mechanical engineering team and managing the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and projects. This role involves ensuring that all mechanical aspects of projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety

The client is a prominent real estate developer specialising in the creation of hospitality and mixed-use assets, combining residential, commercial, and recreational spaces.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

* Lead, mentor, and develop the mechanical engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to team members.

Project Management:

* Plan, coordinate, and oversee mechanical engineering projects from concept through completion.
* Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all specifications and quality standards.

Design and Development:

* Oversee the design and development of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

Quality Assurance:

* Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and performance of mechanical systems.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to project requirements and safety standards.

Budget and Resource Management:

* Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimation and resource allocation.
* Monitor project expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.

Collaboration and Communication:

* Coordinate with other departments, stakeholders, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
* Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to senior management and other relevant parties.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

* Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and implement innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.
* Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
* Minimum of 13 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 10 years in a managerial role.
* Strong project management skills, including experience with project planning, budgeting, and resource management.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., Auto CAD, Solid Works, etc.).
* In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
