Employment: Full Time

Wood's Environment & Infrastructure (E&I) business line is currently recruiting for an Environmental Engineer or Scientist. This role will be based in our office in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia and will be working on projects across different sectors.

Wood employs over 36,000 professionals globally servicing the Clean Energy, Industrial/Pharmaceuticals, Mining and Oil & Gas markets; and provides environmental services across these sectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Projects coordination of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments and support studies with robust experience in scheduling, planning, forecasting, invoicing and general project management.
- Ability to manage projects independently, and able to work with a team and provide mentorship support to juniors.
- Develop and establish key client relationships.
- Development of proposal response to client opportunities, including technical scope of work, pricing and support of commercial terms.
- Subcontractor procurement and coordination.
- Prepares technical reports, in whole or in part, depending on the size and complexity of the document and key subject matter areas.
- Performs moderately complex technical tasks or plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates project work for large work scopes.
- Knowledge of and adherence to KSA environmental regulations and standards, IFC PS and Equator Principles.
- Technical competency in a combination of areas within the environmental field i.e. waste management and treatment, hydrology, geohydrology, ecology, geology etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to manage moderately complex technical tasks.
- Conducting environmental audits and developing comprehensive environmental audit reports.
- Developing Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs).
- Experience in creating and managing Environmental Risk Registers to identify, assess, and mitigate potential environmental risks.
- Conduct Environmental Due Diligence, evaluating the environmental aspects of projects, acquisitions, or investments, and providing expert recommendations.
- Familiarity with industry-specific environmental standards and best practices.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or any other Earth/Biological Sciences related fields of study.
- 5 years' experience working in the Environmental Consulting Field.
- Work experience in the Middle East will be advantageous.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong English proficiency.
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and organizational abilities
- Effective teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and subcontractors
- Willingness and ability to interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, clients and develop effective teamwork relationships
- Detail-oriented, with a commitment to quality and compliance
- Self-motivated and able to work efficiently under guidance
- Willingness to continuously develop knowledge and skills in environmental regulations and practices.
