Job description / Role
• Monitors and maintains the traffic signal and related network systems.
• Creates and updates timing plans at intersections to maintain a safe and efficient traffic flow for pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
• Performs field location reviews for proposed traffic signal installations.
• Prepares and submits written report to clients on completed works.
• Inspect field equipment such as signal controller, signal detectors and all other traffic signal appurtenances.
• In-charge with the monitoring of all traffic signal junctions.
• Caters/provides services to client complaints on traffic signals malfunctions/faults.
• In-charge of maintaining the operation of communication facilities which links to the signal controller from telecom provider to the SCATS control monitoring center.
• Conducts telecom transmission line testing.
• Prepares traffic control operation sheet.
• To conduct training and provide training assessment to those new technicians based on their actual work performance site.
• Performs other job related duties as required.
Requirements:
Have had 5 years of experience in the Installation, maintenance and commissioning Traffic Signal systems
•Operate and maintain computerized signal and communication equipment.
•Troubleshoot and repair data communication equipment and cable.
•Troubleshoot and repair problems inherent to traffic signals.
•Operate electronic test equipment.
•Wire and connect cables necessary for operation of signalized intersections.
•Install and remove electronic devices.
•Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
