Investment Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Investment Analyst to support the execution of investment strategies and objectives. This role involves accurate performance and portfolio monitoring, asset review, risk assessment, and developing investment ideas tailored to both short- and long-term needs. The ideal candidate will be proactive, analytical, and able to provide thorough support across various investment activities.

Objective:
• Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance and asset holdings.
• Conduct ongoing risk assessments.
• Review asset allocations and develop models and scenarios.
• Propose investment ideas based on short- and long-term objectives.
• Engage with and manage relationships with investment advisers as required.
• Oversee investment due diligence processes.
• Prepare investment and account statements along with performance reports.

Key Duties:
• Conduct market research and analysis to inform investment decisions.
• Develop comprehensive market analyses and summaries of market conditions.
• Recommend and execute investment strategies.
• Review and monitor investment accounts.
• Identify new investment opportunities.
• Support the expansion of private markets business.

Specific Responsibilities:

Research and Performance Reporting:
• Review market and sector intelligence from a variety of investment banks daily, highlighting key information for the Chairman and other team members.
• Produce a daily report capturing key market developments, portfolio impacts, and potential investment opportunities, along with performance updates for the Chairman.
• Generate detailed reports on portfolio performance, asset allocation, and investment opportunities.

Trading and Investments:
• Provide actionable trade and investment ideas based on thorough market analysis. Familiarity with the technology sector and its sub-sectors, such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, cybersecurity, and fintech, is advantageous.
• Track data and forecast future performance of stocks, bonds, and funds.
• Execute trades in investment products promptly and efficiently, as authorized by the Chairman.
• Liaise with investment banks and review payment schedules for accuracy across trading relationships.

Private Markets:
• Identify high-potential private market opportunities, particularly within the technology sector and its sub-sectors, such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, cybersecurity, and cloud technology.
• Offer comprehensive financial, legal, commercial, and administrative support to private market portfolio companies to facilitate their growth.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment management or financial advisory services, with a proven ability to support client relationships and grow portfolios.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Economics preferred; advanced degrees or professional designations (e.g., CFP, MBA, JD, CPA) are advantageous.
• Strong strategic and analytical skills, including experience with financial modeling and detailed spreadsheet work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and financial planning software.
• Experience in financial planning and wealth management.
• Knowledge of the Middle East and European markets preferred.
• In-depth understanding of the technology sector and sub-sectors, with a focus on emerging trends, key players, and disruptive companies.
• Fluency in English required; knowledge of Arabic preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, sometimes for extended periods.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
