JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The Legal Advisor will be a key member of the UAQ FTZ team, providing expert legal advice and support to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in legal matters related to free trade zones, commercial law, and regulatory affairs. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a thorough understanding of the legal landscape in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues, including commercial law, regulatory compliance, and free trade zone regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations affecting UAQ FTZ operations.
• Advise on legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential legal issues.
• Represent UAQ FTZ in legal proceedings, arbitration, and negotiations.
• Conduct legal research and keep abreast of changes in legislation and regulations.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure legal compliance in all aspects of business operations.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on legal matters and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and present legal reports to senior management.
• Liaise with external legal counsel as necessary.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university; a Master’s degree (LLM) or professional certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal advisor or similar role, with significant experience in free trade zones, commercial law, and regulatory affairs.
• Strong knowledge of UAE laws and regulations, particularly those related to free trade zones.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice and manage complex legal issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and MS Office Suite.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
