JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic team in the logistics and shipping industry in Dubai, UAE. The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing our financial operations in local offices in West Africa and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance, accounting, and operations within the logistics sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, while also ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining the integrity of our financial systems. This role will include constant travelling to West Africa and will be reporting to CEO in HQ in Dubai. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards, including tax laws.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to set financial targets and track performance against those targets.
- Manage cash flow and working capital, ensuring the company has the necessary liquidity to meet its obligations.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate the annual audit process and ensure timely tax filings.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Utilize financial software and tools to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Conduct financial risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to protect the company's financial interests.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within the logistics and shipping industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations relevant to the logistics sector.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French is a plus.
