Design Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Client is a leading mixed disciplinary Architectural & Engineering Consultancy in Abu Dhabi has an urgent requirement for a Design Manager - Drainage & Utilities

The role Involves overseeing and managing the efficient and reliable delivery of essential bulk utilities on a large scale, and associated works.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Management of Consultants and Contractors to deliver projects within the planned durations, budget and quality.
* Preparation of project management plan to schedule key project milestones, workstreams & activities. Managing delivery of the project according to this plan.
* Tracking project and providing regular reports on project status to project team and key stakeholders
* Ensuring projects delivery plans are developed in way to minimize risks
* Chairing and managing progress meeting, value engineering workshops, design workshops and other project's activities.
* Managing any changes in project scope, schedule and / or budget.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the project timeline, budget, or safety of the project.
* Involved in stakeholder management, communicating with government agencies, industry groups, and other stakeholders to ensure that project objectives are met.
* Managing the relationship and communication with the client and all stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered to their satisfaction
* Managing large and diverse teams of consultants and Contractors.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the organization and among project partners and engaging in Health Safety and wellbeing of Project's members.

Requirements:

* BSc of Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering equivalent.
* 10 -12 Years experience with Abu Dhabi Utility providers.
* Projects execution experience in large scale multidisciplinbary projects.
* Technical Expertise: A thorough understanding of engineering principles and construction techniques, Roads, infrastructure and public realm projects particularly as they relate to Bulk Utilities; Water and Irrigation Pumping Stations and Reservoirs, Electrical Primary and Distribution Substations and Sewerage Pumping Stations and associated networks, connections and transmission lines .
* Collaboration: The ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and other key project partners.
* Previous work experience with Abu Dhabi PMC and Developers is preferred.
