AV Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Our Global Leader AV Specialist client has a new requirement for a number of well experienced AV Technicians to join their team in Al Ain, UAE. Successful candidates will have strong experience in setting up, configuring, operating and maintaining audio visual equipment on high profile leisure and entertainment destinations and major project exposure in AV installations in the UAE will be preferred.

This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and install AV equipment for media such as LCD projectors, speakers, TVs, video monitors, and cameras
• Conduct sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment (projectors, speakers, amplifiers, AV racks, network, cabling)
• Carry out preventative and emergency maintenance of audio, video and lighting equipment to minimize downtime.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment and system faults; provide prompt on-site technical support (during operations/events) to troubleshoot and resolve audio-visual issues.
• Lay cables, rack assembly and equipment installation.
• Inspect mountings and electrical equipment to ensure they conform to health and safety regulations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while setting up and operating AV equipment.
• Operate AV equipment during shows/events and show configure/programming

Requirements:

AV Technician Experience:
• Relevant Diploma or Degree
• Have an understanding of the construction industry (large scale projects preferred).
• 5+ years’ experience as a senior audio-visual technician or sound engineer from events, broadcasting, theme parks with strong technical knowledge of audio-visual systems, networking, control and lighting systems.
• Extensive experience of working with AV, projectors, audio and media software
• Proficiency in video projection mapping (Christie), QSYS, Dante, Powersoft
• Advanced proficiency in media server operation/programming (Watchout)
• Ability to read single line and rack elevation diagrams.
• Proven team management capabilities with experience of running shows and managing a small team of technicians in the set-up and operation of events
