About the team
Our Language Management Center (LMC) offers a suite of translation and localization services to all ByteDance functional teams within Global Business Solutions. We manage content for the TikTok for Business website, external communications, sponsorship plans, marketing materials, training resources, and Knowledge Center articles.
Position & business scope
We are seeking an Arabic Language Manager with a passion for writing and a strong background in content editing and quality control.
The Arabic Language Manager will be responsible for servicing requests from the Global Business Solutions department for the METAP region.
Responsibilities
- Create, transcreate, translate, and edit highly visible marketing, product, advertising, and legal conten.
- Proofread translations from LSPs (language service providers) to ensure quality and adaptation to local markets.
- Organize training and feedback sessions for LSP translators to provide clear, language-specific guidelines.
- Answer and maintain queries from LSPs.
- Define and maintain linguistic standards such as a localization style guide for Arabic, terminology database, and specific localization instructions.
- Lead language quality improvement (QI) initiatives with other cross-functional teams.
- Liaise with marketing, product, content control, and sales teams to understand their specific requirements and quality expectations.
Requirements:
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Fluent in Arabic and English.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of work experience on the LSP side is required.
- Strong syntactic and semantic skills to confidently make critical decisions related to translation.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and cooperative effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with computer-aided translation tools such as SDL Studio, XTM Cloud, or WorldServer.
- Strong team spirit, work ethic, ownership, and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of localization processes.
- Experience in journalism, copy editing, content creation, or online marketing.
