Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

We are seeking a meticulous and organized Accountant to join our team in the marine industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and performing general accounting duties. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the dynamic environment of the marine industry and contribute to the financial success of our organization.

Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
- Manage all accounting transactions
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Preparing DA/ FDA/ Invoices, Coordinating with operations team and ensure that the timely client invoicing is completed.
- Follow-up on client payments and reporting to the management.
- Handling high volume of day-day petty cash transactions
- Supplier invoices verification and input into the accounting software
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Comply with financial policies and regulations

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA, ACCA) is preferred
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role within the marine Field
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with a commitment to accuracy and integrity
- Adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges
- Additionally marine industry experience will be plus for the available position.
