JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The Principal Landscape Architecture is the subject matter expert on the topic of Landscaping, in charge of the technical aspects of the design of Landscape Architecture projects of high complexity, works closely with Designer and Client for the review and validation of design deliverables and to support during construction phase.

Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise on technical complex and focused topics
- Provide sophisticated technical subject matter expertise to design teams during all stages of design delivery (concept design, schematic design, and final design) in coordination with Designer and Client.
- Lead discussions with clients to determine criteria guiding design, including budgets, preferences, etc.
- Provide technical assistance in the development of concept designs, including all required drawings and reports, for projects of high complexity, for discussion with clients, and throughout the construction phase
- Support Designer and Client in the refinement of selected design options into schematic and final designs.
- Provide support in design coordination with other design specializations (e.g. Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Water & Environment) to coordinate design requirements across disciplines for landscape Design projects of high complexity across all design stages (conceptual, schematic, detailed), as needed
- Closely work with stakeholders for design value engineering for projects of high complexity, as needed
- Closely work with Designer /Client for the review and validation of design deliverables with clients and authorities, capturing feedback and obtaining approvals for projects of high complexity,
- Closely work with Designer /Client for reviewing design deliverables of landscape projects of high complexity,
- Conduct QA/QC reviews on design deliverables
- Solve design conflicts during supervision stage
- Support during the supervision stage, including responding to RFIs and solving landscape Design conflicts in coordination with Designer/Client

Requirements:

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Landscape Architecture
- Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture
- Specialization in Landscape Architecture

Skills
- Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, Arabic

Overall Experience
- 15+ years of industry experience in landscape design and supervision
- 15+ years of experience in landscaping in a top tier regional / multinational engineering consultancy firm
- Strong experience in large and complex projects
- Exposure to global best practices and trends in Landscaping Design
- Experience in the Gulf is preferred. Saudis are preferable.
