JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The Head of Academy is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, academic excellence, and overall management of the academy. This position requires a dynamic and visionary leader with a strong background in dentistry education, administration, and a commitment to advancing dental education and research in Saudi Arabia.

Description

Academic Leadership:

* Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Dentistry Academy, in alignment with the academy's mission and goals.
* Foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement in dental education.
* Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation processes. They are listed as an approved program centre by the Saudi Commission of Health Specialities for dentistry.
* Collaborate with faculty to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based dental education programs.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental education trends and best practices.

Administrative Management:

* Manage and lead the academy's administrative team, including academic coordinators, staff, and support personnel.
* Ensure effective resource allocation, budget management, and financial sustainability.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to support the academy's operations.
* Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity and inclusion.

Faculty Development:

* Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse and highly qualified faculty.
* Promote faculty research and scholarship, encouraging contributions to the field of dentistry.
* Support faculty in professional development and mentorship.

Student Engagement and Success:

* Oversee student recruitment, admissions, and enrollment processes.
* Implement student support services to enhance student success and well-being.
* Foster a positive and inclusive student experience that promotes diversity and cultural sensitivity.

Research and Innovation:

* Promote and facilitate dental research within the academy.
* Encourage innovation and the adoption of new technologies in dental education and practice.
* Collaborate with industry partners for research opportunities and advancements.

Community Engagement:

* Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including dental associations, healthcare organizations, and government agencies.
* Participate in community outreach programs to promote oral health education and awareness.

Quality Assurance and Accreditation:

* Ensure compliance with national and international accreditation standards.
* Lead the academy through accreditation processes and maintain accreditation status.

Reporting and Communication:

* Provide regular reports to the academy's board of directors or governing body.
* Communicate the academy's achievements and challenges to stakeholders and the broader community.
* The role will report to the CEO directly.

Requirements:
* A doctoral degree in Dentistry (DDS or DMD) is required, and additional qualifications such as a Master's or PhD in dental education, administration, or a related field is preferred.
* Extensive experience in dental education, including a track record of academic leadership.
* Strong administrative and management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Experience and knowledge of Saudi Arabia's healthcare and educational regulations and policies is an advantage.
* Arabic speaker.
