The project:

As the cost consultancy team in the Middle East continues to expand, we are searching for a cost consultant to work within our lenders' technical advisory services team, supporting our base of financial services clients on some of the most exciting projects in the region.

We provide due diligence and project monitoring services on unique projects and programmes across the Middle East and Africa, including some of the giga projects for which the region, particularly Saudi Arabia, has become famous.

• You will support cost planning including ownership of and presenting cost plans to clients and internal stakeholders.
• You will support the procurement process, ensuring stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
• You will support the delivery of cost management services to deliver key strategic outcomes and KPIs, directly influencing the strategic development of plans.

• You will manage teams, demonstrating effective leadership to ensure excellence in delivery against plans, and championing a continuous improvement culture throughout all activities.
• You will actively network, innovate, and seek an understanding of best practices, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and the knowledge hub.
• You will guide assistant cost consultants and other junior team members to identify and execute opportunities that improve cost management procedures, templates and products to enhance services provided to stakeholders.

Requirements:
You’ll need to have:
• A degree qualification in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
• Middle East cost consultancy experience.
• Ability to obtain a work visa for Saudi Arabia.
• Ability to analyse cost data, to raise queries challenges where you see anomalies in the data.
• Collaborative can-do attitude to integrate with your colleagues on the team.
• Commitment to deadlines without compromising on quality.
• Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and relevant work experience working on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.

You’ll also have:
• Professional membership or working towards i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent), or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
• Commercial and financial acumen.
• Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
• Experience in managing parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
• Experience in developing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
