The project:

This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, and arts along with all associated infrastructure.

Mace is one of the delivery partners requiring high-calibre and experienced professionals to lead integrated teams throughout each phase of the project.

To be responsible for planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient and effective flow, storage and staging of materials, plant and equipment, people, services, and related information from point of origin to point of consumption for the purpose of supporting the main contractors deliver the permanent assets within the project.

The logistics team consists of four sub-teams: planning and controls, delivery, operations and commercial.

• You will lead the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with the overall vision and objectives.

• You will be a recognised expert in PMO and project controls, with a strong internal and external network (e.g. clients, contractors, consultancies and other stakeholders).
• Planning the logistics requirements which are sequenced, and integrated with the permanent construction schedule, this will include leading the scheduling and 4D modelling team.
• Planning the capacity requirements of logistics assets and infrastructure.
• Planning and managing land allocation and handovers between contractors in line with the permanent build schedule.
• Data management of key logistical metrics.
• Development of reporting systems and dashboards relating to the logistics function.
• Directing the risk management for the logistics team.
• Development of policies, processes and procedures relating to the logistics operations.

Requirements:
You’ll need to have:

• A degree qualification.
• Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and relevant work experience working on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
• Experience in planning large complex construction programmes.
• In-depth knowledge of scheduling to direct the P6 planners in developing integrated schedules.
• Excellent data analysis skills.
• Ability to identify key KPIs and lead a team to develop reporting systems.
• Good understanding of risk management.
• In-depth knowledge of project control tools and software.
• Ability to persuade and influence stakeholders and colleagues to accept proposals and recommendations.
• Being able to tackle problems that do not have an obvious solution.

You’ll also have:

• Professional membership or working towards i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent), or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
• The ability and desire to work in Saudi Arabia.
• The ability to adapt and be resilient in a rapid and changeable program.
• Extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure, ideally including earthworks and highway works.
• The personality to work in a collaborative and integrated environment, with multiple teams and nationalities.
• Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
