JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The Refrigeration Mechanic maintains, repairs, installs and operates refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, combustible equipment, industrial air compressors and related equipment items. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).

Principal Accountabilities

- Installs, modifies, repairs and operates refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and related control systems and equipment.
- Performs installation tasks involving assembling, testing, calibrating and adjusting control systems for prime movers and dual equipment colling installations and specialized refrigeration.
- Diagnoses and isolates unusual malfunctions to individual system components.
- Uses special pressure, temperature and analysis test equipment to determine efficiency and effectiveness of refrigeration colling.
- Adjusts, calibrates and aligns components for optimum operating efficiency within design limitations.
- Installs, modifies, repairs and operates plant systems and equipment according to applicable Technical Publications and directives.
- Inspects refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and related control systems and equipment. Inspects completed or in progress work for compliance with standard operating procedures, safety standards and technical publications.
- Prepares and completes documentation including Work Orders, USAF Supply and Amentum forms and updates Maximo.
- Prepares assets/equipment for air/sea/road haul shipments in accordance with Technical Orders, Manuals, Checklists, Regulations, Maintenance Action Sheets and UTC Configuration listings.
- Performs servicing and/or maintenance of in-use assets as required.
- Conforms to Amentum/USAF safety, hazardous material and quality standards.
- Ensures all tools, personal protective equipment and clothing issued remain safe, secure and serviceable reporting any deficiencies.
- Operates Mechanical Handling Equipment as required.
- Performs other tasks and duties as directed by Amentum/USAF tasking.
- May be required to assist in other departments when directed or requested to accomplish a specific task or project.
- Performs Temporary Duty (TDY) within the Area of Operation as required by the USAF/Amentum tasking.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Works in maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.

Requirements:

- Must have organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at a beginner level.
- Must be able to read and understand technical data, plans/blueprints and publications pertaining to refrigeration air-conditioning systems.
- Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
- Will be required to operate material handling equipment.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.
- Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
- Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs. and performing extensive work handling/lifting equipment.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of Military or civilian experience in the field of refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, combustible equipment, industrial air compressors and related equipment items preferred.
- Certified refrigeration technician through a military and or civilian formal technical training preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Bear order of Battle (BOB) assets or similar Department of Defense Agencies Contingency Systems preferred.
