JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

As a Commis 3 at Fairmont Doha, you will assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency. This entry-level role provides an opportunity for you to develop your culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a high-end kitchen environment. You will work under the guidance of more senior chefs to support the efficient operation of the kitchen and contribute to the overall success of our dining operations.

Key Responsibilities:


- Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to established recipes and standards. This includes chopping, mixing, and cooking as required.

- Station Support: Support the Chef de Partie in managing and organizing your designated section, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain cleanliness and organization in your work area, adhering to all hygiene and safety regulations to ensure a safe kitchen environment.

- Stock Management: Assist in monitoring and managing stock levels, including receiving deliveries and properly storing food items.

- Learning & Development: Take an active role in learning new cooking techniques, kitchen procedures, and culinary skills. Seek feedback and guidance from senior staff to improve performance.

- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other kitchen staff, including Chefs de Partie and Sous Chefs, to ensure smooth kitchen operations and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.

Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential.

Education: Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution is advantageous.

Skills:

- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for cooking.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
