Job Description

Position Overview:

The Commis 3 for the Employee Dining Room at Raffles and Fairmont Doha will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals for hotel staff. This role requires a passion for culinary arts, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and cooking of various dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food items are properly cooked, seasoned, and presented.
- Follow guidelines for portion control and presentation specifications.

Kitchen Operations:
- Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times.
- Assist with inventory management and notify the Chef de Partie of any shortages or requirements.
- Ensure proper storage of food items and adherence to food safety regulations.

Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure timely preparation and service.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment and work areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly.

Continuous Improvement:
- Seek opportunities to learn and develop new culinary skills.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve kitchen operations and employee dining experience.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting.
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
