Site Planner

Job description / Role

Wood is looking for a Iraqi local national Site Planner based in Basra, Iraq on a 6 days on / 1 day off Rotation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be Safety champion and intervene when observe any safety related matter/issues
- Convert all construction work packages into executable plan, covering full scope of construction accommodating safety requirements.
- Develop comprehensive construction schedules in accordance with site Safe Work Practices & Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines. Including but not limited to safety requirements, manpower requirements, work sequencing, tool requirements, material requirements.
- Provide engineering and procurement needs (CWP, Material etc) to meet construction /shutdown plans.
- Forecast construction completion date and suggest ways for improvement/ recovery plan for any delay.
- Plan resources (Incl Plant and Machinery) required to carry out work as per project schedule.
- Conduct review meetings with contractor to assess the progress, support contractors in overcoming any challenges.
- Include technical disciplines to determine appropriate involvement in the planning and execution process.
- Act as interface between contractor and construction/commissioning team.
- Conduct regular field checks during execution of complex work to audit your own plans.
- Ensure plans are updated regularly based on field input
- Monitor manpower/manning by contractor/vendors to meet plans
- Review completed project after completion and close out of project.
- Maintain and manage the correct status of planning/progress with schedule and progress updates
- Establish construction benchmarking norms for various commodities like Concrete, Piping, Cables, Fabrication and erection based on actual execution timeline

- Must open to different points of view and approaches to construction workflow, seek to understand and value other's perspectives.
- Must work jointly with other planners to identify and drive solutions that will lead to the improved performance.
- Must be able to convey early warning message to senior management

QUALIFICATIONS
Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have around 10 Years experience in Oil and Gas construction planning.
- Technical Skills
- Hands on experience in Primavera scheduling software.
- Knowledge of Construction Workface Planning
- Soft Skills
