Senior Construction Engineer (Mechanical / Piping & Civil)

Job description / Role

Wood is currently recruiting for local national Senior Construction Engineer (Mechanical / Piping & Civil) to strengthen our team in Basra, Iraq on a 6/2 rotation cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Has a broad experience with a lot of different Piping materials and fitting.
- Good experience working with site teams on fit up and welding with approved procedures.
- Has some site testing experience with piping NDT ,testing (hydrotest, pneumatic )
- Has worked with flange management procedures
- Have good experience with mechanical installation such as rotating equipment (pumps, compressors),static equipment (tank, vessel ,skids, etc.)
- Equipment lifting experience
- Planning knowledge and experience-able to work with contractor to identify scheduling, material and resourcing issues.
- Confident in managing contractors with some contractual knowledge.
- Experience working with quality management systems and procedures.
- Can review and approve method statements and other contractor documents.
- Experience or general knowledge of working with systems completions (MC walkdowns/punchlist closure).
- Physically fit and can work under pressure safely.
- Some shutdown planning and execution experience.

- Degree in Engineering - Mechanical
- 12+ year of relevant experience in Oil & Gas Project Construction and Execution
- Experience in Brown and Greenfield construction projects
- Shut down knowledge
- Sound supervisory and organizational skills.
- Clear communicator with good interpersonal skills.
- An active listener with the ability to focus on customer requirements.
- Able to motivate the EPC contractor on the importance of safety.
- Familiar with ISO and OHSAS standards.
