Employment: Full Time

Wood is currently looking for a Business Development Specialist to join our Iraq Operations Team.

The Business Development specialist's primary role is to build Wood's in-country relationships with Chinese organizations and grow Wood's business, in line with our global and BU strategic plans.

The main objective is the winning of new business and to support growth business targets including revenue/margin and client relationship development. Primary focus will be the development and management of the relationships with Chinese international companies operating within the Iraq Energy Market.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Execution
- Provide support to our Iraq business through building trusted relationships with Chinese companies operating within the Iraq Energy Market.
- Support establishment and marketing of our services to existing and new customers, specifically ones with links to China and outbound Chinese investment.
- Liaise closely with Wood business development team in Dubai to provide insight and knowledge to grow the business in Iraq under the direction of our strategic business execution plans
- Regular engagements with existing key customers in Iraq to build the Wood brand in Iraq, collate and report on key market trends, customer strategies and key stakeholder management insights.
- Support all Iraq based BD activities, understanding growth and broadening opportunities particularly in Wood core services in Brownfield Modifications, EPC, Completions/Commissioning and Maintenance, IFMS, Operations and Duty Holder etc....
- Manage account level engagements to grow Wood business in Iraq.
- Rotational pattern to be determined but requires extensive travel into Iraq.

Leadership
- Is an advocate and role model for ethical behaviors and compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Teaches and empowers others to make decisions within established parameters
- Support HSSE leadership, to ensure that HSSE and quality management issues are proactively addressed across all Iraq Contracts.
- Drive good practices, including corporate initiatives, across all areas of work.

Requirements:

- University degree in relevant discipline or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.

Knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Knowledge of Iraq Energy Operators and Chinese Service Providers contracting relationships.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in managing customer relationships either in a Business Development or Operational capacity
- Understanding of Business Development techniques, commercial and technical risk management.
- Understanding of the market, specifically the Chinese companies operating in Iraq
- Having spend time within a Chinese State Energy company or affiliate advantageous

- Motivated self-starter, who can use own initiative to make appropriate decisions but also know when escalation is required.
