About the role

Provide technical leadership and deliver against project requirements across cloud infrastructure services from assessment to technical strategy and migration to transformation.

The role is to provide expertise to our clients across cloud audit and strategy, design, and migration as expert services.

You will be qualifying client requests developing the target design, capturing the design direction in High Level Design (HLD) documentation, and supporting the development of Low-Level Design (LLD) for the optimal performance.

You will be supervising implementation, ensuring it follows the technical design guidelines you have developed and documented.

You will drive internal and external teams and would be presenting the customer, explaining, justifying, and ensuring that the target design and delivery models are well understood and agreed.

There are three main group of activities expected from your role. These are group of activities that related to (1) plan, migrate and grow; (2) insight, focus and explore; (3) run, manage and secure.

For the first group of activities, the following responsibilities are expected:

- Use modeling, decision making and validation techniques to design target architecture or target application state.
- Define the right migration strategy for applications according to their criticality.
- Provide technical expertise in developing migration design, assessing application readiness, and specifying the requirements for the landing zone.
- Produce IT operations process workflows and IT operation's organizational structure along with IT operations tools assessments.

For the second group of activities, the following responsibilities are expected:

- Provide guidance to the client's on how they can transform or re-architect their applications in cloud native way, using hyperscaler's and third-party automation tools
- Develop delivery models that increasingly use automation and increases the maturity of the DevOps use within client's environment
- Provide guidance and recommendation around organizational and governance structures that would help support client's cloud driven strategies and initiatives including roles, process flows, management layers, KPIs among others.

Requirements:

About you

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering Computer Science, Data Science, or another related field.

- Experience: 5-10 years of applied experience on IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, application migration, cloud native service architectures and requirements, application re-engineering, and DevOps.

- Competencies: Experience working with cloud technologies with prior experience in delivering solutions across virtualized and containerized environments.

- Experience in defining requirements for implementing cloud native applications or migrating applications to the cloud infrastructure. Prior experience application transformation for re-platforming would be desirable.

- Attributes: Knowledge of software engineering lifecycle. Applied knowledge of concepts, applications, and technologies of cloud architecture with specialization in one or more of the hyperscalers preferably across AWS and/or Azure.

- Strong focus on cloud infrastructure and service offerings having carried out assessment, transformation and technical leadership on cloud projects is expected.

- General: Excellent communication skills and the ability to prepare technical documentation and process workflows. Excellent attention to detail, must be capable of logical thinking and possess advanced problem-solving skills.

- Public Cloud: AWS, Azure, Solution Expert or Solution Architects

- Private Cloud: VMWare Certified Professional, VMWare, Nutanix, OpenStack.

- HyperVisors: V-Sphere, Hyper-V, KVM

- Automation: Ansible, TerraForm, GitHub, Gitlab

- Infrasture / OS: Solaris, Linux, RedHat

- Problem Solving: Anticipates, identifies and defines problems. Seeks root causes. Develops and implements practical and timely solutions.

- Systems Thinking: Ability to plan and account for impacts of system development efforts across architectural system components, critical business processes, data and applications. Conceptualizes the impact of changes to system platforms because of system acquisition, system merger, or implementation of enterprise-wide systems.
