Senior Manager - Data Engineering

This position is to lead and develop our data engineering strategy across Azure and other platforms. This role is pivotal in defining and driving our system integration strategy, ensuring robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines and architectures.

Description:
* Actively participate in the development of the department's strategy and goals, as well as establish and drive the execution of initiatives and plans to meet them.
* Accountable for the development of Digital Solutions Product Roadmaps, and associated investment and implementation plans to deliver the required technology products and services for Diriyah's Internal and External customers.
* Determine the Financial and Human Resource requirements during the annual budgeting exercise, advocating for optimal resource allocation based on priorities.
* Monitor the operational performance of the department, compare them to the established objectives and goals, whilst establishing periodic reports and reporting on them to superiors.
* Manage day-to-day activities and operations.
* Refine and ensure proper documentation and implementation of all policies and procedures for the concerned department.
* Monitor subordinates' performance and provide formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize efficiency, performance and productivity.
* Lead and coach a team of IT professionals overseeing their performance management, talent acquisition, training and development to ensure high levels of engagement, competence and motivated work environment. To build a strong team, develop future leaders and ensure a sustainable organization.

* A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Technology, Enterprise & Commercial Systems with 5years of experience in a senior leadership and managerial role.
* Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
* Experience with construction data (e.g. Oracle Primavera) and ERP data (e.g. SAP)
* Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in data engineering.
* Previous experience in a senior or lead data engineering role within a large organization.
* They should be experienced in managing solutions for large scale, complex deployments where high levels of reliability and resilience are a top priority
* Managing and influencing Executives & Senior Leaders and managing multiple teams with varied deliverables.
* Capable of presenting complex technical subjects in a simplified manner to business partners.
* 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of leading and managing data engineering projects.
* Expertise in Azure, and other cloud platforms.
* Strong proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies, including ETL processes, data warehousing, data lakes, and real-time data streaming.
* Excellent understanding of system integration principles and practices.
* Strong technical skills in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
