Job description / Role
IN and VAS Operations Senior Engineer for Vodafone Qatar
The IN and VAS Engineer is responsible for 24/7 Operations, Support and Configuration of the IN and VAS network elements in Vodafone Qatar network. He will provide Level 2 support for customer complaints and carry out incident/problem management activities, vendor management, support contracts, SLAs evaluation. The IN and VAS engineer will also be responsible for validating, implementing and testing network and product configurations within the defined OLA / SLA
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Fault management, analysis and investigation
- Preventive maintenance, support, and Performance management
- Vendor management
- Configuration management , implementation and testing
- Escalation and stakeholder management
Key performance indicators:
- IN/VAS Network and services SLA/KPI performance
- Product / tariff configuration and changes within specified SLA’s
- Root cause analysis and identification of solutions to problems
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, telecommunications or equivalent.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- 8 years’ + experience supporting and configuring ALU Surepay, eSM/RMS, UMF equipment in an operator environment, that includes but not limited to daily health checks, incident handling, problem solving...etc
- Technical knowledge in Intelligent Networks architectures and protocols, like DCCA, CAP, SS7, SIP, MAP…etc with Excellent troubleshooting skills and E2E knowledge of mobile and fixed networks architecture and protocols.
- Experience in UNIX/LINUX System administration.
- Experience in programing and scripting languages (Unix Shell, AWK, Pearl, SED, Python…etc).
- Experience in VAS elements (SMSC, Voice mail…etc) is a plus.
