Job Description

Plumber

Diagnose, maintain, and repair plumbing systems within the hotel. Ensure good relationships with internal and external customers. Ensure hotel fixtures and fittings are maintained in a safe condition and act when any unsafe situations arise. Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

- Attend Daily Briefings and Room Checks: Participate in daily briefings and conduct arrival/departure room checks to identify plumbing defects.
- Maintain Pool and Plant Systems: Regularly maintain swimming pools, hydro pools, and plants according to established schedules
- Assist with Plumbing Defects: Provide assistance with plumbing-related defects and address general maintenance requests as needed.
- Oversee Preventive Maintenance: Supervise major preventive maintenance tasks across various areas of the facility.
- Plan and Procure Materials: Plan and procure materials required for major preventive maintenance activities.
- Document Completed Tasks: Maintain detailed records of all completed tasks and materials used during maintenance activities.
- Emergency Standby: Be on standby for emergency maintenance jobs after midnight as required.
- Maintain Cleanliness and Assist During Emergencies: Ensure cleanliness in work areas and provide assistance during emergencies as necessary.
- Perform Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency repairs, maintain tools, and order necessary supplies to ensure operational efficiency.
- Respond to Fire Alarms: Respond to fire alarms promptly and maintain accurate fire safety records.

Requirements

- Education & experience: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program preferred. Minimum of three years of experience in plumbing or related field.
- Certification: Valid plumbing license or certification as required by local regulations.
- Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings, strong problem-solving abilities, and familiarity with plumbing tools and equipment.
- Knowledge: Understanding of plumbing codes, regulations, and safety practices.
- Physical Ability: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods.
- Communication: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Attention to Detail: Precision and accuracy in installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in various environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Customer Service: Commitment to providing excellent service and addressing customer needs professionally and courteously.
