Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose: Provide management oversight of construction activities to ensure project progress and completion in accordance with overall project plan. Monitor performance of supervision consultants to keep project compliant with budget, schedule, quality and HSE requirements.

Responsibilities and Major Activities
- Contribute to build ability workshops and design reviews
- Implement and promote with the contractor a zero accidents and injuries free culture on the construction site.
- Review and approve the contractor’s project execution plan for the construction stage.
- Review and approve the supervision consultant’s procedures to monitor and review progress of daily construction work and to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other applicable regulations.
- Monitor the supervision consultant to ensure that routine project site inspections are undertaken.
- Monitor actions by the contractor to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site including overall project risk management action.
- Liaise with supervision team, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
- In conjunction with the supervision consultant investigate damage and accidents, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
- Finalize and manage scope, schedule, quality and budget changes as necessitated by the change control system.
- Monitor implementation of procedures by supervision team to ensure compliance with Quality and HSE specifications.
- Coordinate with the project commissioning team and the client to ensure that all projects are meticulously commissioned and training of client staff provided as necessary.
- Prepare progress and tracking reports.
- Monitor actions by the supervision team to follow up with relevant parties’ corrective, preventive and defect repair.
- Ensure appropriate usage and application of the Project Management System (PMS) with respect to entry and analysis of work related data.
- Coordinate with QPM technical team on design and engineering issues and approvals.
- Liaise with project parties and client for critical decisions as required.
- Ensure safety and wellbeing of team members on site and compliance with HSE policy.

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates with multinational experience in well-known infrastructure construction PMC’s

The right candidate must have the ability to work on multiple packages at a high level on a city construction project as a client representative.

He or she should be able to communicate professionally on all levels and be able to make decisions/ problem solve and find constructive solutions.

- Bachelor Degree in civil engineering, construction management or related discipline
- Minimum 15 years post qualification relevant experience and 5 years in a similar position

Special software – BIM Pre-construction or post contract

Around 15 years hands on exposure in civil infrastructure job focusing HV, MV, LV, and their substations, District cooling, gas, HVAC, PWC and other utilities and services including coordination with authorities at various stages. A qualified electrical engineer from a reputable university.

Preferences

- Membership of a professional institute
