Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE:
Monitor and control oil production and water injection facilities in UA Oil Field, taking actions within standing instructions to ensure the safe operation of the field and CPC plant to specified production levels.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities
- Monitor and control operational performance of well head platforms, CPC oil plant, water injection, power generation plant and utilities (e.g. Plant & Instrument Air, Diesel Oil System, HVAC etc).
- Check the operation of the wellhead platforms and the flowing/injection status frequently. If a string has ceased to flow due to any other reason, inform wellhead team to initiate action to revive the string.
- Constantly monitor CPC plant parameters and levels of production and adjust the injection. Advise wellhead team to initiate necessary actions as required.
- Constantly monitor ESP (Electric Submersible pumps) operation at MTU and advise WHPT team on any abnormal operation.
- Coordinate with wellhead team and while pigging water flow lines and depressurizing / pressurizing oil flow lines for rig requirement, liaise with Zakum during main oil line pigging.
- Record in CPC log book and CPC Plant Log Sheets operation data (CPC & wellhead activities). If any parameter deviates from the normal value, bring to the attention of wellhead team and operation supervisor.
- Constantly monitor the new DCS, ESD, PLC & Fire/Gas System and take corrective actions as required.
- Monitor the start / stop sequence of equipment (MOL Pumps, Deaerator, Hyper Filters, Air Compressors, HP Pumps, etc) and in case the sequence is aborted, identify the reason and inform the Plant Operator to take corrective action.
- Wherever an alarm is received, inform plant operator to check for the cause of alarm and to rectify it.
- Monitor and control remotely all plant equipment such as production separators, pumps, compressors, filters, deaerators, turbines, etc, to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
- Follow up the Chemical treatment programs for CPC Plant and keep inventory.
- If hazardous condition arises in the plant, start fire pumps and inform plant operators to activate deluge as required.
- Prepare daily production report, equipment status, etc. to be forwarded to the Operation Supervisor.
- Retrieve events report/curves from DCS & MTUs for further analysis Monitors and controls all activities within his area of responsibility are conforming to "HSE Standards & Guidelines" set by the Company.
- Follow up the implementation of Work permit system and issues safety lock off certificates.
- Prepares operation Monthly reports (Chemical monthly report, chemical yearly report, diesel monthly report, Turbine monthly report, utility monthly report, SUBU monthly report, equipment's running hours and status monthly report).
- Updates chemical, nitrogen and lab material stocks and prepares bi monthly stock reports.
- Ensures weekly and monthly schedules are maintained for pumps performance tests, main oil line pigging, corrosion monitoring, lab tests, total oil flow measurements, fire water pumps weekly test run, firefighting monthly function test and fire and gas alarms weekly tests.

- Provide on-the-job Training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.

- Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures and functional processes.

Health, Safety , Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
- Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.

Housekeeping
- Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during operations, in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.

Reports
- Provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
- Prepare various Key Performance Indicator (KPI) checklists for management.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal
- Receive emergency telephone calls and respond as necessary.
- Coordinate with Plant Operators during plant shutdown / start up, process upsets, permutation of equipment, altering process conditions and during oil / water flow line pigging operations to ensure these are affected within agreed procedures.
- Immediate work associates, Operation Supervisor, Wellhead Team, Plant Senior Operators/ Operators, UA Maintenance Teams, Zakum.
- Coordinates movement of supply boats and helicopter at Umm Al Dalkh field during night shift.
- In case of WHPT's shutdown or change in level of production immediately inform Zakum.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification
- Technical Diploma in relevant field or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 5 years' experience in a modern process plant such as a refinery/fertilizer plant, utilizing a computerized control system.
- Proficient in English.
