Project Director

Job description / Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Director with substantial experience in Rail Design, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing major infrastructure projects within the UAE. Working with a renowned infrastructure main contractor, you will spearhead the execution of rail design projects, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timeline requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Project Leadership: Assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of rail design projects, overseeing all aspects from inception to completion.
- Team Management: Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and project managers, fostering collaboration and ensuring efficient project execution.
- Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships, and addressing any concerns or requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve project objectives, including resource allocation, risk management, and contingency planning.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all rail design activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications, maintaining a focus on excellence and innovation.
- Financial Management: Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, monitoring expenses and ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate effective communication among internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and transparent working environment.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to minimise project disruptions and ensure successful project delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes, optimise efficiency, and achieve operational excellence.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Promote a culture of safety and environmental sustainability, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and promoting best practices across all project activities.

Salary:
AED 55,000 to 65,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Project Director or similar leadership role, with a focus on rail design projects.
- Extensive knowledge of rail design principles, standards, and best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results, meet deadlines, and exceed client expectations.
- UAE experience and familiarity with local regulations and standards preferred.
- Professional certifications such as PMP or Chartered Engineer status are advantageous.
