Senior Planning & Controls Engineer - PMC

Our Multi National Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Consultant Senior Planning / Project Controls Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on Commercial, Mixed Use, Retail and Hospitality build and refurbishment projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Planning / Project Controls Engineer on a mix of civil construction, refurbishment and fit out projects in the UAE and have a proven track record of working in recognised consultancy or PMC Companies.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the efficient delivery of the Project Control lifecycle in all aspects of the programmes, as well as support with the successful project delivery through integration of Planning, Cost Management, Risk and Quality Management.
• Manage, maintain and update the existing processes, procedures and documents related to Projects Controls.
• Participate and provide input in technical and commercial proposals.
• Manage staff of schedulers and cost estimators performing schedule analysis, cost impact analysis and preparing independent estimates as part of the change and cost control process
• Assist in preparation of the final project report.
• Prepare and review all tender programme submissions
• Proactive identification and mitigation of project and business risks through proper planning, staffing and execution of assignment.
• Planning and overseeing development for all newly awarded projects.
• Communicate and report on project management metrics to leadership regularly.
• Coach and train employees in project management and control procedures while driving accountability for results.
• Provide financial performance reviews on project execution and schedule.
• Drive the use of digitization strategy for project control process software systems and tools.
• Maintain compliance with approved processes, procedures, and project execution plans.

Salary:
AED 24,000 to 30,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Senior Planning & Controls Engineer Experience:
• Minimum B.Sc degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience and at least 2 in a recognised consultancy or PMC company
• Demonstrable experience of Construction, refurbishment and fit-out projects.
• Detailed understanding of statutory authorities, processes, and time frames for approvals;
• Candidates will demonstrate that they can not only use the software (eg Primavera P6) but understand how to plan, have chaired necessary workshops with functional managers, that they can articulate the plan to senior managers and have wider quantitative project controls experience.
• Good Understanding of Critical Path and Delay Analysis Techniques and can perform time impact and claim analysis.
• Certification in planning and scheduling of projects and in using Primavera applications (Primavera Project Management / P6 and Primavera Contract Management / Expedition)
